Fish for Daddy.... almost!

Christa (almost 3 yrs old) came running to me to show me a paper collage and crayon colouring. She must have had some help from the teacher but I thought I'd just shower her with some praise. She beamed with pride holding it in front of my eyes. I think I made her day and hence, she was going to behave very well today. She would not fight with Clarissa. She would eat on her own and not require anyone to feed her, dress her, or put her in her bed.

Wow...! It's magic what a little praise can do!

Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

"Legend says that a crystal skull was stolen from a mythical lost city in the Amazon, supposedly built out of solid gold, guarded by the living dead. Whoever returns the skull to the city temple will be given control over its power".

Mommy and I bought the movie tickets 2 days ahead of time to beat the busy crowd who would flock the cinema for the 4th Installment of Indiana Jones called the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

It all started in 1957 in Nevada,... where the KGB had kidnapped the archeologist, Dr Henry 'Indiana' Jones Jr (Harrison Ford) and his friend Mac (Ray Winstone). They overran a secret army installation and headed toward a top-secret US Army warehouse of historical artefacts to recover a piece of highly magnetic 'treasure'. After uncovering the 'treasure', Indiana Jones escapes only to find himself in a town meant as a target for nuclear arms testing. He cleverly escapes death (again!) and finds himself in trouble with the FBI who suspects that he is a double agent.

He goes back to his university and soon finds out that he has been forced to retire (it's about time isn't it?). He plans to go to another city was interrupted when he meets young Mutt Williams(Shia LaBeouf). Mutt told him that his long lost archeology friend, Professor Oxley (John Hurt) has been kidnapped while in a conquest to find the Crystal Skull. Mutt's mother, Marion (Karen Allen) went looking for Oxley and has since suffered from the same fate. Henry decides to help him look for Oxley, Marion and the Crystal Skull in Peru.

They looked for the trail left by Oxley in the mental asylum as they thought he had gone crazy. It led them to an ancient burial place (some claim that Henry "Indiana' Jones was an unethical grave robber) protected by tribal blowpipe savvy people. They found the mystical Crystal Skull (seemingly something from ET or Star Wars or Alien) and was ambushed by the FBI agents and taken captive. They were reunited with a mentally disturbed Oxley, Marion and the double-crossing Mac.

As they were being taken to the lost city of gold, they put up a fight and finally plunged into a river in an amphibious vehicle to escape killer red ants. Henry saw it fit to return the Crystal Skull to the city. They found the entrance into the treasure and artefact chamber and ....

The movie is superb that they have retained Harrison Ford, the Theme song and the adventure elements plus a little family reunion. Steven Spielberg ensures that the movie keeps up with the high standards of science fiction box-office thrillers. However, the ending was baffling as it didn't seem as good as the previous 3 series. I suspect Mutt may take up the mantle if there is a sequel after this.

Clarissa was left speechless as THX and Dolby Digital was too loud for her. She had her eyes peeled throughout the movie and she finished her 'Chipster'.

Baby woes ... to numb my senses

I stared at the blog almost everyday trying to write. But I just couldn't. Maybe it was the interrupted sleep as the children have been sleeping with us throughout the night. Benedict wakes up at 12 am and 6 am. Christa wakes up at 6.30 am. My alarm clock rings at 7.00 am. Mommy gets me out of bed at 7.30 am.

Did I mention that Benedict wants to sleep on the masterbed after taking his night feed? Sometimes Christa also wants her clothes changed if the diapers overflows. She subsequently refuses to sleep in her own baby cot.

Could someone make Benedict fall asleep again after his 6.00 am feed? He pounces on my chest and wants to play.

Hold on,... I could use some Nescafe Gold and some Panadol! I was dead tired over the past 2 weeks and finally found a short interval without feeling a splitting headache or dizziness.

What does children and moisturiser lotion have in common?

I got back from a trip with the disabled sailing team at Admiral Cove, Port Dickson. 2 days of sun became unbearable on my knees, ears and chest where I forgot to apply the SPF50+ sunscreen.

I took out a tube of Aquathenol (moisturiser) lotion and started to apply them on my knees. Both Clarrisa and Christa 'came to my rescue' when they opened their hands and demanded to apply the lotion for me. I soon found out that they were not satisfied until they emptied the whole tube. Now, I thought it was going to be difficult work!

Benedict's trampoline

Mommy brought Benedict into the bedroom asking me to take a look at Benedict while she sorts out the things the children needed for school tomorrow. Little did I know that Benedict had converted the baby-cot to a 'trampoline'.

Just need to make sure he doesn't fall over while enjoying himself. I wonder what he'd be like once he doesn't need to hold the sides of the baby-cot anymore?
