Hokkien Mee - worth the wait
Just as everyone was hungry again for something interesting to entice the gastric juices, we came to our favourite Hokkien Mee corner called '86' in Cantonese. On a Friday night, we expected to wait at least 15 minutes for the thick black noodles cooked in soya sauce and lard. Ben was getting a bit bored and started fidgeting a bit while Clarissa was insisting that it was bed time.
As soon as the large plate for two came, we saw each kid refill their small bowls at least twice. Now, who was it who didn't want some?

Chinese New Year with my nieces

Grandpa brought us all to Genki-Sushi with my brother-in-law, my sister and her 2 girls. The girls did everything as a group while grinning at each other. Clarissa and Nadia shared an Udon while Christa ate Sushi (without the wasabi sauce). After some time all the children grew horns (see photo) and did their own thing.
The wooden swing at Home Fix-it was very useful as the children were all exhausted and had to rest their aching limbs. Nothing beats the old fashioned swing while enjoying some Ribena and Jackfruit cuts.
Did anyone notice Clarissa and Christa's new shoes? Mommy and I got them from the Padini Outlet at the Curve. Seemed to fit pretty well and looked beautiful in those feet!

The Manhattan Fishmarket Restaurant
Sunday afternoon was a superb time for a casual lunch with the children and I to ease off the busy week we've all had. We were presented with an offer we could not miss. Great seafood and Kids eat for free! (The offer was until 21st August 2007) .jpg)

I knew what I wanted. Loiusiana Shrimps and Rocky Mountain Oysters. Clarissa looked at the menu and pointed directly at the fries. She could just live by eating french fries. Mommy just wanted Fish and Chips.
To their delight, the children were allowed to scribble on the table top decoration and were given a crab promo handout to play with. They ordered a set of Fish and Chips and Calamari and Chips. Their orders came swiftly served in a stainless steel 'wok'. Clarissa enjoyed every bit of the Dory fish and calamari. Christa was too busy slurping up the complimentary Orange juice and chomping on the french fries. .jpg)

Mommy and I ordered the Manhattan Seafood set (meant to share for 2). The waiter came by the side of the table and grilled the shrimp, fish, oysters, calamari, garlic rice and fries with blue flame for about 30 seconds.
The shrimp dressed with shrimp sauce and the fried oysters even drew some praise from Mommy (usually ignores such dishes). Both items went well with the garlic rice.
The total bill only came up to RM49. Can't wait for the Merdeka Day promotions i.e. for RM100 spent, you will get a discount voucher for RM31. The next time around, we will go for lobsters!!!

Udon - Japanese Noodles!

Both Clarissa and Christa looks forward to having noodles when we visit The Curve (TON CHAN) or One Utama (Ajisen Ramen). They always go for the non-spicy option with lots of vegetables, shrimps, squid and chicken.
They then pride themselves with eating the noodles themselves with the "pheeee-eeet!" effects when they suck up the noodles. When we are not looking they occasionally pick the noodles right up and swallow them one by one. They would usually get a reprimanded for playing with food but they continue to enjoy their meal. We also introduce the girls to hot green tea and the girls learn to take sips slowly.
We usually give them small portions bit by bit to discourage wastage. However, the girls get 'deadly' stares from other patrons when they start fighting for more noodles. (Screaming and yelling would accompany such battles for attention). I don't really mind the stares but I pity the onlookers when they have their own children. What would they do?.jpg)
